Hello parents of North Vancouver and West Vancouver,
We wanted to let you know about the first North Vancouver event in a series of workshops we are providing. All are welcome!
Why Every Parent Needs LGBTQ+ Awareness
Hosted by the DPAC of North Vancouver
Many parents of young children feel that this is something to think about later, but our youth are most vulnerable at very young ages and their parent relationships are key to their well being. We are talking about 1 in 5 BC high school students who are trying to navigate this, mostly without parent involvement because kids don’t feel safe to share.
Bridging the Gap
For every child, their home life and parent relationships are key to surviving the dangers, and thriving as loved, supported and empowered people. As parents, professionals and advocates for our youth, we would like to support them by sharing information and creating a safe space to engage parents in conversation. The generation gap between our parent community and our local youth is one of the primary challenges in creating safety, and well being for everyone, and lowering serious risks to our young people.
